Week 8 - Art Activity – Photo Story

 



My shift starts at 11am today so I woke up at 7am to get ready for work! This is my bathroom at home. I just dyed my hair purple and pink the night before too!



All of my scrubs are dirty so I had to do laundry before I leave for work. Time is now around 7:45am!



My supervisor called at 8am today. Apparently my shift started at 7am today and no one told me. I just put in the laundry so now I can't get there until 11am anyways.....


I arrived at work at 11am! I work on the first floor of the hospital in the microbiology department. Most of my work today was to accept patient samples and check them into the lab for processing.


I finished my shift at 7:40pm today. I stayed a little bit late because I felt bad about being 4 hours late. I st. a new record today....

I'm still technically at the hospital in these pictures. It took me 10 minutes to get to my car from the lab so I didn't get to leave until 10:50pm


I made it home in these pictures. All of the anxiety caught up to me and I crashed at 9pm that night. I didn't wake up until 3pm the next day. 



    I had massive amounts of anxiety from this incident and I still do. I'm just really hoping none of my coworkers and supervisors think that I'm a really unreliable person...

       Alexander Fleming is microbiologists working during the early 1900s and is most known as the scientists who dicovered penicillin. Not only did he discover one of the most important antibiotics we use to date, he was also one of the first scientists to use microbes for art. He painted people, objects, houses, and actions on a petri dish using bacteria. His artwork below is a person, two people fighting, and a mother feeding her baby. I think petri dish art is especially difficult to do because unlike regular paint,  bacteria cultures are usually clear with a slight yellowish tinge to it.This makes it really difficult to see what is being drawn. You would basically have to draw blind and then grow it and see what happens. The only indication you have that tells the artist that they may be doing something right is the marks on the agar from the inoculating brush. Name your blog post: Week 11 – Artist – Choice

 Jason Mecier and Andrew Gorkovenko 1. Who is Jason Mecier? Jason Mecier is a mosaic artist that creates images of celebrities out of anything he wants, from bacon to make Kevin Bacon and even Honey Boo Boo from trash (although this sounds terrible, the mosaic actually turned out pretty nice. I wouldn't be offended if I was her.). He is quite popular as an artist. According to his biography, his work has been featured in music videos, televsion, and bought by many different celebrities.  2. Who is Andrew Gorkovenko? Andrew Gorkovenko is a Russian graphic designer that actually works as an advertising designer specializing in brands. While he does use other media other than food to do most of his work, one of his works that I saw that I thought was very cool was his TripTea collection. Week 1 - Artist - Spill Sesh & Lovelyti TV

 Spill Sesh and Lovelyti TV are both drama channels that talk about other creaters or celebrities who are  in the middle of drama or cancellations. They both discuss the backgrounds of these celebrities, then their drama, and how normal people are perceiving their drama. I suppose their goal would be to inform people of their favorite celebrities' wrongdoings, but I think money is a bigger motivator because of how popular drama channels are and how much negative attention attracts people. The difference between these two channels would be who they report on and their anonymity. Spill Sesh keeps their name and face anonymous while Lovelyti TV is out in the open. Spill Sesh mainly covers other Youtubers with the occasional celebrity while Lovelyti TV covers reality TV stars. I watch them in my free time or when I need background noise.
